Yagos (Ioannis) Chalkias has joined the firm in 2023 based in the Piraeus office, having been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2010. Yagos advises on a wide range of shipping, corporate and banking matters including carriage of goods by sea, marine insurance, admiralty law, banking and financial services, ship finance, ship sale and purchase, ship sale and leaseback, newbuildings, loan restructurings and various corporate issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Yagos had the opportunity to gain valuable experience at a high profile law firm where he has been advising corporate clients and financial institutions on a number of major transactions including asset finance, drafting commercial agreements and providing strategic legal advice.

Yagos obtained his law degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a master’s degree in Maritime Law (LLM) from the University of Southampton.
