Profile
George Sampanis specializes in public procurement law, public contracts, privatizations and energy law and has extensive experience in shareholder disputes, commercial contracts, commercial and civil law disputes and international arbitration.
Prior to joining the firm in July 2019, George was a partner of a Boutique Law Firm specializing in public procurement and public contracts in parallel to serving as an adviser to the Minister of Environment and Energy (March 2017 to July 2019) on matters of privatization and energy law.
George is the co-author of the “Public Sector Contracts, Protection below the European Thresholds” (2010) and of the entries on public procurement law in the “Dictionary of Legal Terminology - Public Law” (2014), has published two articles on public procurement law in Theory and Praxis of Administrative Law (2010 and 2013) and has participated as a speaker in conferences related to public procurement law.
Education
George has been a member of the Athens Bar since 2010. He obtained his law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a master’s degree in European and International Economic Law (LLM) from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
